Triangle of Art in Madrid
Madrid is in my view an incredible city. Perhaps not the most objective person to talk about it, because I was born here, live here and I'm in love with Madrid, but there are many who are not in my situation and feel the same, so there is some truth in this. One of the advantages of living in Madrid, is to enjoy the vast amount of museums in the city. In this path we will take a tour of three museums in the world. They are separated by just 5 minutes walk. We speak of the Museum of Contemporary Art Reina Sofia, Museo de Arte Thyssen-Bornemisza and Museo Nacional del Prado, or what is the same, the famous Art Triangle of Madrid.
1. Museum of Contemporary Art Reina Sofia
The Reina Sofia is my opinion (and this is just an opinion), the most interesting museum of the three that make up the Triangle of Art.
Opened in its current location (Old General Hospital of Madrid) in 1986, at which time the museum not only changed its seat, but his name called from the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art Centre Reina Sofia.
Inside you can admire works of the twentieth century (from Picasso 1881), making the Reina Sofia in chronological continuation of the Prado Museum.
Picasso, Dalí, Miró and Sorolla are some of the principal artists can enjoy the Reina Sofia.
The star table set out in the museum is the Guernica.
2. Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza
This private museum operated by public funds meets one of the most impressive art collections in the world.
The Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation was created in 1988, while the museum opened its doors in 1992.
The Thyssen Museum offers an unbeatable tour of the art from the thirteenth century until the late nineteenth century. We will enjoy the major movements of Western art as the Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque, Rococo and Romanticism.
3. Museo del Prado
With over 1,000 exhibits, the Museo del Prado in Madrid is simply summed up in a single visit ...
Name the authors presented their works in this museum would be a lengthy task, but suffice to cite some as Velázquez, Goya, Titian, Rubens, El Greco, Raphael, Tintoretto and El Bosco, so that no one doubts that you are talking about a of the world's leading art galleries.
